Fall 2012 Newsletter
Fun, Funky and Family Friendly

We thought we’d offer a few ideas and share a few project pictures of Fun, Funky and Family Friendly Renovations.
They come in all shapes and sizes depending on the family and the home. Some are Trendy, some are Inspirational, and some are just plain Fun. Sit back and enjoy reading about them.

Let’s Play
Here are great examples of how a few of our clients incorporated their fun-loving spirit into their homes.

A music loving family created the perfect space for their budding musicians to explore their talents and passion, complete with raised floor stage, various sound and music accessories - one being a built-in mixing board, and a variety of stage and effect lighting. A gathering area, not shown in this picture, includes a TV, fireplace and attractive sitting area so when the music is over the laughter and conversations can continue. A very fun and creative family space.

There’s an App for that!
One suggestion we make to our clients when planning a project, is to gather magazine clippings of spaces, colours, moods that appeal to you, compiling them in a binder. Even if you don’t see a common thread, it is a very helpful tool for your designer to understand your personal style. With the cost of magazines however, this can be an expensive exercise. There are some great websites & associated apps to help you do the same thing without the expense. It can be very addicting for some people ..... so don’t say I didn’t warn you!!!!

Grab a coffee, your computer or tablet, and you are ready to do some resourcing! Certain apps and websites are now designed to let you create an “ideaboard”. The two that stand out are Pinterest and Houzz. Once you join and create personal ideaboards, you can share them with others - like your Pioneer Craftsmen Designer to “Follow”!

pinterest.com allows you to make multiple virtual bulletin boards for just about any topic of interest, and it allows you to “pin” any on-line image to your Pinterest boards. It is also a great way to see what is popular as images are “re-pinned” by others.
