Feature Renovation

When you love the location of your home and have raised a family in it, it’s hard to leave it! The home owners of this Feature Renovation did indeed love their 1970’s home, but wanted to modernize the look and feel. They came to us with some great design ideas and worked closely with Project Manager Paul Meier to perfect them while considering their existing artwork collection and the fact that they love to have family and friends over.

As you can see the open concept and clean, sleek lines provide a modern flair with welcoming appeal. Notice how archaic materials such as wood and stone are worked into cutting edge functionality. In the ensuite bathroom for instance the wooden sliding door and decorative stone seat tie exceptionally well into the modern selections such as the glass vanity, mosaic tile and multi-purpose shower. The vanity and linen closet door finishes, along with the full size mirror above the vanity with its “in wall” faucet maintain a clean, chic and large space.

In the kitchen, the combination of a sleek high gloss paint finish with the warm linear wood grain cabinets grouped well with the traditional blended natural stone vanity glass in the backsplash. Stainless steel built-in appliances coupled with well organized storage mean no clutter in this kitchen. Within the family room, the richness of the deep floor is a perfect contrast to the light stone wall featuring the two sided fireplace. They work perfectly together. The stone wall is large enough to offer a nice segway into the dining room while narrow enough to maintain the open concept.

Our client’s creative mind played a big part in this exceptional design. Paul Meier, Glen Adam and Grant Erb pulled it all together. Congratulations to all! This is one of two projects named as Finalist in the 2010 Provincial Awards of Distinction, by the Ontario Home Builders Association. Thank you to our clients who allowed us to enter their projects into the competition!
