A Perfect Solution
As is often the case our clients loved their property and their neighbourhood. However their kitchen was tired. This family who loved to entertain, came to Pioneer Craftsmen for help.
Project Manager, Paul Meier had assisted with their ensuite bath renovation three years prior and was thrilled to have the opportunity to help again. Working closely with the client, he developed concepts, some within the existing space and some incorporating an addition.
A final design was agreed to, incorporating the client's creative design ideas for the island and cabinet detailing. Paul guided them through the daunting task of selecting finishes and details until they were totally satisfied and ready to proceed to the next stage - construction.
Removal and offsite storage of furnishings was arranged and the living areas were kept available for use as long as possible. Key to client satisfaction at this stage was open and clear daily communication between the client and site carpenter (Carpenter(s) name). Unforeseen challenges do occasionally occur and when there was a delay in materials for the tile layout, we temporarily laid laminate flooring in the entry to facilitate the entertaining the client continued during the renovation.
The finished project is striking and a complete pleasure to entertain in. The galley workspace keeps everything within reach of the cook and the island routes traffic away from the workspace. Built-in appliance elements disguise their appearance maintaining a clean, uncluttered look.
The island delineates the space and echoes the shape of the house. It's unusual shape incorporates a bookcase and bar fridge while breaking up the open space. The light canopy echoes the faux finish of the accent wall and reinforces the island as the focal point.
It also creates a great seating area to enjoy a morning coffee or unwind with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The stunning arrangement of windows provides a perfect view to yard and pool while flooding the area with natural light.
