Gary
Gary Adam, President

For over 30 years, Gary, President and second generation of Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd, has strived to build a business his clients can depend on. Over the years he has developed a culture that allows his company to grow while never compromising the individual attention that each client deserves. Under his guidance Pioneer Craftsmen has become an award winning company with thousands of satisfied customers.

Gary comments “This is an exciting time to be in this field. Changing technology provides better, more environmentally friendly ways to offer solutions to our clients' changing lifestyles”.  In order to stay on top of changing technology, Gary and his staff regularly attend seminars both locally and across North America. “It is imperative to continue learning and maintain that Pioneering Spirit if we are to remain a leader in the industry and offer our clients the very best service available.” Gary adds.

Gary’s commitment to the renovation industry extends well beyond his own company. He continues to be involved in the Regional and Provincial Home Builders Associations and has helped develop a three year renovation and technology course at Conestoga College. Gary also sits on the Renovation Advisory Board and is a board member of the Better Business Bureau. Numerous industry awards have recognized his personal contributions.

Personally, Gary is proud to follow in his father, Ken Adam’s footsteps. In turn it is very rewarding for him to watch his son Jamie, following in his footsteps. Jamie is a key member of the Pioneer Craftsmen team with the same passion for perfection as his father. Spending time at the family cottage, downhill skiing, wilderness tripping, fishing and auto racing are a few ways Gary enjoys his downtime. However now that he has grandchildren, some of that downtime is being redirected. These days it is not uncommon to see Gary showing these young ones how to fix things around the house with a fully equipped Fisher Price toolbox. The smile on Papa’s face says it all.

JamieJamie Adam, Design Consultant - Project Manager

Jamie Adam, third generation in this family business, shares the vision of his grandfather and father. He understands the importance of continuously earning the trust of his customers.

Jamie is a graduate of Conestoga College, majoring in Business Administration and has over 18 years experience in the construction industry. His experience ranges from on-site, hands-on building to estimating, designing and project management. Like his father, Jamie is a firm believer that continuous learning and keeping abreast of ever changing techniques and products is key to remaining a leader in the industry. He regularly attends seminars, conferences and trade shows throughout North America.

Jamie has implemented an Education and Training Plan at Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd. for all staff members, encouraging them to challenge themselves to continually grow. When asked to describe his role at Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd. Jamie responded “Ultimately my job is to find the most effective way for my clients to achieve their renovation goals. My role is to investigate, to look beyond the surface in order to provide the renovation solution that is just right for their individual needs. Each renovation offers an opportunity to create something unique for my client. By successfully completing each renovation to my high standards, working closely with my clients each step of the way, I am able to ensure complete customer satisfaction, a growing future for Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd., myself and my family.  I absolutely love what I do.”

Jamie and his wife Betsy can’t wait to share their love of the outdoors, downhill skiing and camping with their two young sons.

RossRoss Wagner, Design Consultant - Project Manager

Ross has spent his entire working life involved with the construction industry. His last 30 years have been devoted to the renovation field. Ross's education and vast experience in design, project management, and local building techniques combine to create a wealth of knowledge that his customers and staff of Pioneer Craftsmen have come to depend on.

Ross’s values and passion for the construction industry are in line with Gary’s and Jamie’s. He is a firm believer that continuous education as well as remaining abreast of the changes in the industry are imperative if he is to continue to offer the best service and value that customers have come to expect from Pioneer Craftsmen.

When asked to explain his perspective of Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd. Ross responds,  “It was immediately obvious to me when I first became involved with Pioneer Craftsmen Ltd. more than eight years ago, that this was a company committed to quality workmanship in all they do. This has remained a priority in the company culture. Their staff and trades bring many years of skill to their work along with much enthusiasm. It is a pleasure to be able to use my experience and ideas to represent such a professional company.”

It is apparent when talking to Ross about his family and grandchildren, that they are a very important part of his life. Ask him about them sometime, then watch him grin from ear to ear.

PaulPaul Meier, Design Consultant - Project Manager

Paul’s love for architecture comes through clearly when you speak with him. Before joining our team he completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Ottawa. His passion and creativity in design, his sound knowledge of construction, along with his 14 years of experience bring new ideas and strength to our design build program. Pioneer Craftsmen is thrilled to have Paul as part of our team.

When asked to describe what he likes most about his career choice Paul responds: “I love architecture – old and new. I love the challenge that comes with listening to an individual client’s needs and dreams then working with their existing home and lot to design the perfect solution that is uniquely theirs.”
A past client best explains Paul’s talents, “Paul’s design captured what we wanted, even when we didn’t know what we wanted. Nicely done”. Paul continues: ”As for working with Pioneer Craftsmen, I appreciate their dedication to earning and keeping the trust of their clients. Their culture and values are in line with my own.”

Outside of work Paul is known for his culinary skills and taste for fine foods and wine. However nothing tops the time spent with wife Laura and his daughter Riley.

JenniferJennifer Dainard, Design Consultant - Project Manager

Jennifer comes to us with 15 years in the Interior Design industry. She is a graduate of the 3-year Interior Design program at Fanshaw College in London, and until joining us at Pioneer had her own consulting business for 6 years. Jennifer joins our team at a time when clients have a keen awareness of the necessity of design that, before now, was considered of less importance. This fits our Design Build process perfectly and adds value to our clients’ projects.

Jennifer states, “I love space and the way every space, large or small, presents it’s own challenges. Making it work more efficiently or completely re-purposing an area to fit the homeowner’s needs and lifestyle is very rewarding. It is simply the best feeling to present a plan to clients that meets all of their needs and even has a few things they hadn’t considered.”

In the interest of creating spaces that feel as though they were always a part of the house – not an alteration to the original, Jennifer is sensitive to the overall aesthetic of the renovation. Taking into consideration, the age of the home, but still bringing in some contemporary elements and amenities, the term “timeless’ could describe her approach to every project.

NathanNathan Seiling, Project Facilitator

Nathan is a bundle of energy. This energy and his past experience in renovations, scheduling, supervision, multi-tasking and customer relations make him a resourceful member of our team. He is a genius with his Blackberry and is quite capable of jogging from task to task while keying in his daily notes. Nathan works closely with our Project Managers and Lead Hand Carpenters to ensure the transition from paper to construction happens smoothly, timely and according to plan.

When asked what drew him to Pioneer Craftsman he responded “This company is very people focused with a level of quality that surpasses the customers expectations. The employee and management teams are made up of people with integrity. It is wonderful to work with a company that you are like minded with.”

In his spare time Nathan enjoys playing hockey, camping with the family and “helping” his kids with video games.
