Gatherings around the heart of the home are now a breeze in this open concept. The "wormy maple" wood-topped island serves as their dining table and comfortably seats up to 6 people with ease.

Where there once was a seating area in the living room, darkened by the overhang on the front porch, there is now ambient light flowing in from the living room window through the kitchen and hallway.
The rich colour of the granite countertop is emphasized and enhanced in a leathered finish, bringing out the natural beauty of the stone and the sxpansive counter space makes the most of the omitted wall between the kitchen and entry.
Recessed LED strip lighting beneath the shelving creates a feature of light in lieu of a kitchen window and allows the homeowner to showcase their favourite dishware.
The white painted custom cabinetry and built-in coffee bar allow for ample storage without closing in the space.
A bathroom upgrade was included in the renovation.

These homeowners were looking to blend their two styles in this cozy Kitchener home. They were seeking to breathe new life into their space with a modern feel and more open floor plan to entertain friends and family.

The Pioneer Design-Build Solution

Our solution was to take into account the different desires and create a new style that would complement both parties — and make everything feel like one.A warm, inviting, and modern space with clean lines and interesting design carried through the whole main floor renovation. Without having to add an addition, we were able to significantly increase the workable space to allow for more entertaining.The bathroom was initially tight quarters, but by shifting to a floating vanity to take up less floor real estate and adding a walk-in shower with muted light from the window, the space always feels open and airy without having to expand the physical space.

A bathroom upgrade was included in the renovation.
