Warm, Open, and Designed for Everyday Living

When a retired couple with a love for cooking, baking, and travel decided it was time to upgrade their kitchen, they envisioned a space that felt as welcoming as their lifestyle.
Their goals were simple, but meaningful: open up the space, bring in more light, and create a kitchen that was both beautiful and highly functional.
The renovation challenge

The Pioneer Design-Build Solution
Pioneer Design-Build’s solution began with a bold move—removing the dividing wall between the kitchen and dining room. This transformed the entire main floor, flooding the area with natural light and creating a free-flowing, social layout.
A large, open-concept kitchen was anchored by an oversized island that serves as the central prep, baking, and gathering zone.
Soft sage green cabinetry set a calming tone, complemented by warm maple accents like custom fridge panels. Special amber pendant lights found on a trip to Venice cast a cozy glow above crisp quartz countertops. A vibrant Persian-style red runner tied the kitchen with the adjacent living and dining areas.
A thoughtful separated fridge and freezer layout with a “landing zone” in between made daily routines like unloading groceries or setting up morning coffee more efficient. Inside the cabinetry, custom inserts kept every utensil, spice, and mixing bowl in its place.
With new hardwood flooring throughout and meticulous detail, this renovation created more than a kitchen—it gave the homeowners a space that reflects their passions, supports their routines, and invites them to linger.
